Types of Crime | Online Assignment Help

Two former police officers that worked for Biscayne Park pleaded guilty. They pleaded guilty due to framing an innocent teenager. That is only 16 years of age along with being African American. With numerous home burglaries. This call came from the officer’s chief, Raimundo Atesiano. The reason of this case being, so that the chief’s department can increase the property crime- solving records. The officers, Dayoub and Fernandez, committed a crime that can be classified as a misdemeanor. The two officers made a wrong arrest of T.D, they also admitted in falsefully arresting the young teen. They violated his civil rights to crimes he simply did not commit. The officers also falsified the teenager’s documents to make it seem as if he did commit those crimes for four unsolved break-ins. The officers committed this crime, as a result of orders from their chief.

This type of crime of the case could be explained by the Interactionist Theory of crime. The criminals, many times have the rights to walk away from a crime. In most cases they do not do so. The environmental policy from the conditions or the situation at the very moment do not always allow them to just walk away. Since the officers Chief has more power over them they felt that could not say no to his orders. Even if the officers knew that if they got caught, their jobs were on the line. The officers had the chance to save their jobs by telling their chief that they disagree or a simple “no”. The officers felt that they should not disobey Atesiano request. All of that was just to receive a clearance rate of crimes in the city. I believe, the officers really did not think they were the ones that would really get convicted for the crime. They did not think through they could have ruined this innocent teen young life. As stated in the article, all three former officers got charged and the teenagers charges eventually got dropped since it was all false (Weaver, 2018).

The crime explains the theory of the crime as a factor caused by the free will to a person. If the officers felt that the orders from their chief were incorrect, they could have reported this false command that was given to them. There were many ways to avoid this scandal. Instead they choose to make the wrong arrest any way. It was an extremely racist arrest to do just because the teen was African American. They felt that since the teen was African American that most of them commit these types of crimes and they would not get caught in this act. In a report, the town clearing many burglary cases and they found out that at least all were based on false reports. (Weaver, 2018).

The classical theory applying on both sides of the story are, to begin, the two officers did not have a defense because they committed the offence when they both know that they had the choice to deny those orders. The second theory, would be that all of the officers thought that just because of his skin color and race that he is “kind” are known to commit those types of crimes.

At the end, since the officers violated T.D’s civil rights and their honorable code of conduct. The officers were the ones that committed the real crime in this case. This case was very wrong along with poor choices that were made. This was a very severe crime that took place. It was severe, due to the trying to falsify documents just to make an arrest. The chief made action in a dishonest way. Very unfair selfish thinking of himself, just to have a hundred percent crime record cleared out. The officers who helped the chief, all three of them came together to plot this arrest. Everyone that was involved, should be accountable and punished for this terrible crime. No one deserves to be arrested for no reason. We all have our rights!

This week's paper was written really well; however, I could immediately ascertain that a different writer had written this paper because there was some minor formatting errors that needed to be corrected. Also, I had to re-write a couple of sentences, but it was not anything major to request a revision for. Overall, the paper was good, but I would like to see consistency in the papers regardless of different writers.
