Sports Management Assignments | Online Homework Help
After reviewing the NASSM Blog, the textbook reading, and your own experience, how would you define sports management? Why is sports management important to society as a whole? Provide specific examples to support your rationale.
Sports management is a huge field of work with many opportunities. Sports managers could work for professional teams, college teams, or sports marketing firms. Some fields in sports management are event managers, sports economist, and facility managers, financial experts, promotion experts, and sports economist, or information experts. In these fields, you would have the opportunity to work in the front office of a franchise, work behind the scenes, or work with the public to promote your club.
Sports management is important to society as a whole because there is so much that goes into a sports team than what is shown. Sports management works as a business and as a team, that looks over the team that plays the game. Without sports management, there would be no team. For the example I chose the Boston Bruins, the Bruins general manager is Don Sweeney, he is responsible for managing the team, he negotiates contracts, trade deals hires coaches, scouts and more. Many people in Boston are familiar with Don Sweeney because he is the Manager, but there are many more individuals that contribute to the management of the Bruins. The team has hockey operation workers, ownership and executives, and scouting staff. All of the staff work together to do what is best for the team and that’s what helps the players play the best they can.
