A Journal Reflections for Sociology
The Sociology course in my opinion is a very core one and in this reflection journal, I will air my views, arguing and presenting reasons why I believe that it is crucial. There are different topics that are covered in the sociology course as well as sociology classes. First of all, sociology can be defined as a discipline that is concerned with the study of society, the social interaction of human beings as well as the rules and regulations that hold together or separate people, not just under the basis of individuality but as members of specific groups, associations or even institutions. Therefore, sociology is a broad discipline that carries a lot of information that is crucial for all the individuals. In this journal, I will basically discuss the core topics that are taught in the sociology lessons and classes. These topics are: race, nationality and ethnicity, sociology of food, mass media, youth cultures, sociology of gender and sexuality, social movements, cults, clans and communities, consumerism, the family, class conflict and inequality and the issue of spirituality, superstition and legends. Sociology seeks to answer all the questions that surround the human existence, issues that affect and influence how human beings relate as well issues related to family. Sociology helps one understand how people interrelate, intermarry, aspects of social classes and economic factors. Simply in my own definition, I would say that sociology is a discipline that seeks to elaborate the human existence, relations and all the absurd things in the human race. Through the study of sociology, we are able to understand as well as answer questions about the relationships of different humans. It is significant discipline that is interesting to pursue, for more knowledge as well as understanding.
