Workplace diversity refers to the variety of differences between people in an organization. Workplace diversity is about acknowledging differences and adapting work practices to create an inclusive environment in which diverse skills, perspectives and backgrounds are valued (cite). It is about understanding the individual differences with people in the workplace with that arise from a broad range of backgrounds and lifestyles, and recognizing the value of using those different perspectives, ideas and ways of working to enhance the quality and outcomes of work. Diversity is shaped by a variety of characteristics including age, ethnicity, gender, disability, and language.

          If the organization has the ability to offer it flex time, or part time hours should be an option for these workers to provide a better balance of personal verses professional.

Lastly, inclusion is key. From team outings to asking for feedback, feeling included in what is important to them is what will retain them and avoid the possibility of feeling isolated.

Religion in the workplace can bring up some of the most difficult issues employers have to face.
