I attached the requirement of the personal statement and also my previous personal statement about my background (feel free to re-use my background information).  And below are the detail I would like to include in the Personal Statement. And please consider this as an University application and put in details which would be helpful for the application.

1. I am currently major in Business and did get a good grade with the core courses.
2. I also took a multicultural business consulting course which I would like to include in the personal statement. ( This course help me increase my network with people and also made me confirmed myself that Business is an Area that  I would like to pursue and work within the rest of my life.
3. I start working in a restaurant since I was 16 and got a promotion from my manager to become an Accounting assistant in their company’s human resource office.
4. I start saving when I was 16 and I managed to put in most of my saving into the stock market in 2018 as tuition to learn about how the economy works. I lost some money in the beginning and I start researching the reason and the relationship between government policy and company and investor decision.  And luckily, I  recovered all my loss and start making profits in 2019.
5. My goal is to become an economist or jobs relate to the economy, which I could apply my knowledge and find interest in my careers.

Personal Statement

As an immigrant coming from a middle class family, I have experienced my fair share of injustices and difficulties growing up in the United States. My mom and I emigrated from Hong Kong to the United States in 2012, in hopes for me to receive a better education that she did not have a chance to pursue. There were no shortcuts for me to be successful. It was definitely not easy when I moved here; I had to learn and use a language that was totally different from what I’ve used before, a new living style that was hardfor me to fit. But everything I had experienced is what shaped my character, my personality, and the goal I aim for in my life. My goal is to prove that a dream can change everything.

I was having a hard time when I am six years old, my parents divorced and they were trying to hide the fact to me. But I clearly knew what was going on between them, even though I pretended I don’t know anything.  My dad was a horse trainer in Macao; my mom was just a housewife. My mom and I lived in Hong Kong during that time period. My dad owned nine houses at that time. Therefore I was spoiled and grew up in a hypocritical surrounding.But I am also glad I grew up in a surrounding that is full of lies and falsity, which I learned that we never know what kind of person they are under their kind and smiley faces. It really taught me the idea that I can only trust myself in order to be successful. Although everyone told me that living with my dad would have a better future for me but I chose to live with my mom, whichI came to America with my mom.

The most difficult time is also the happiest time in my life. My mom worked hard but paid with low salary. But she doesn’t want to get any help, like CSSA (Comprehensive Social Security Assistance), from the government because she want me to learn the concept of don’t relied on anyone if you have the ability toafford yourself. She won’t be stingy to me even we are not rich. Thatencouraged me to work hard and be responsiblefor my life. I want to use what I’ve learned in my life to show her that she made the right decision for raising me up. I want to honor and thanks her for everything that she have done for me.
