Northern Territory Emergency Response | Online Assignment Help
The area of policy is the Northern Territory Emergency Response (NTER or ‘The NT Intervention’) which was introduced in 2007. You are firstly required to complete a short (500 word) synopsis of relevant evidence on the NTER. In the second part of the assessment, you are required to reflect critically on this issue on the discussion board. In both the synopsis and the critical reflection you are required to address the following two questions: 1) The specific policy elements of the NTER designed to reduce alcohol consumption included alcohol restrictions on Aboriginal land and compulsory income management. What factors do you think most significantly limited the effectiveness of these policies and why? In developing your answer, please consider a) the way in which the NTER policies were developed and implemented AND b) contextual factors influencing alcohol consumption among Aboriginal people in the NT. 2) What are some alternative strategies which may be effective for reducing alcohol consumption in these settings? Consider evidence on the effectiveness of previous strategies that have been used (in the Northern Territory or elsewhere) and factors which influence alcohol consumption. The Synopsis should comprise a concise summary of the available evidence, addressing each of the questions posed. This written piece must be your own original work and based on your search of the literature. Your arguments should be supported by evidence. Citations and references in APA format are required. The Synopsis is to be submitted via Turnitin and should be no longer than 500 words (not including references). The Synopsis is due on Monday 16th April at 9:00 am (AEST). This is also the first day of the Critical Reflection. I hope you are making good progress in writing the Synopsis and preparing for the Critical Reflection. We would like to direct you to a few basic references on the topic, to help ensure you are on the right track: 1.
