If you do not read McKinsey Quarterly please register it’s free.I’m not sure how many have you have seen the recent McKinsey Quarterly Article, “Organizational Health, the ultimate competitive advantage” but the authors present some compelling arguments for achieving results beyond what is typically viewed as “performance.” Here is the link: https://www.mckinseyquarterly.com/Organization/Strategic_Organization/Organizational_health_The_ultimate_competitive_advantage_2820 (if you don’t already subscribe – it’s worth the time to complete the application).According to Kelley and Price (2011), organization health relates to the way organizations can adapt, change, renew, and align in relation to competitors. The authors provide qualitative and quantitative information about the importance of building a resilient and healthy “people” component that is aligned with the organizations performance components. Kelley and Price (2011) also assert that the “soft stuff” (people parts of the business – leadership, energy, external orientation, coordination, etc) is also the hard stuff.Take a look at the video embedded in the online article – it will give you some background from the authors.Reference:Article is adapted from Scott Keller and Colin Price’s Beyond Performance: How Great Organizations Build Ultimate Competitive Advantage (Wiley, June 2011)
