INDIAN CULTURE
Indian culture relates to all form of attributes, traits, behaviours, religion, dance and music that relate to the people within the boundaries of India. Over the years, various traits have been copied from the Indian people. In this research task, it will try to investigate this through the answering of the various questions.
Question 1
One of the aspects where Indian culture has had influence includes in the music. In this, the use of the iconology has been seen to have had influence from India. Through the use of the Vedic thoughts, various western musicians have used the non-visual and use of symbols from India in the making of their music. Indian influence can also be seen in the use of literature as some of the work used in English get influence from India such as the word shampoo borrowed from champoo word. Great influence can also be seen through the use of famous philosophy word from India such as Bhagavad Gita which was later translated to other languages. The use of art is another influence as some of the famous artists such as Auguse Rodin and Paul Gauguin paintings are influenced by Indian Art. Lastly, pedagogy has been seen to have originated from Indian whereby one pupil or student serves as a tutor to the others.
Question 2
There are various differences and similarities that can be drawn from Indian and Western music. One of the difference includes the fact that Indian music is mostly composed with great influence from nature such as the Karnataka classical type of music that is melodious while on the other hand, Western music is mostly writer’s influenced and have a great consideration on melody and use of stable notes. The other difference can be seen by the idea that Indian music is the representation of self-salvation as it stirs spiritual sense while western music mostly considers the secular pact or even the formal setting with less or no devotion. Some of the similarity is that both types of music are based on the use of melody as well as rhythm. Both types of music have been seen to produce feelings and moods amongst the listeners of the music.
Question 3
Raga can be described to be a melodic framework practised in Indian music. The use of the trait has the utilization of the five notes whereby the musician has the room in an improvement of the various notes. Raga together with other arts such as dances has in previous times been seen to have some level of spiritual influence that was discovered. Raga cannot entirely be compared to any kind of traits; what can be seen is the similarity of the scales and mode. Some comparison can be seen with the sharing of raag that is common between the raga and the western music.

Some of the characteristics of Indian music is that it most emphasizes the trait of patriotism in individuals as it encourages diversity that unifies individuals. Various specific instruments are used such as the Sitar, Veena and the Bansuri
One of the most significant differences that can be seen between Indian pop music and Western pop music is the idea that Indian pop is entirely made for films. The aim of this is usually to increase the length of the plot, show more on romance in the film or even to break the monotony of drama in the film.
Question 5
Fusion music can be described as music that has the union of various genres in order to produce unique music. One advantage is that it can accommodate various dance styles and at the same time will attract more fans than music from one genre. Some of the cons of fusion music are the idea that some people take it that fusion music is an attempt of ending other music genres. Some of these thoughts include the idea that fusion music aims at ending jazz music.
A keen look at the various genres shows that every music genre is unique to itself. Strict understanding of the various genres will aid in the proper interaction of various genres to create more music.
