Each Student will be tasked with attending a community association meeting in Kahuku, Laie, or Hauula. Part of the Macro process is learning about the current issues in your immediate community. Each student will also choose a social issue from the meeting and write a 3- page paper to advocate for Macro social justice. The paper is to be written in APA format with 3 citations from academic journals, not websites or local newspaper articles. Academic journals. (Example: Homelessness, Poverty, Abuse, Educational Needs, etc.). Once you have identified a community need, you will take the position as an advocate for the community by identifying innovative methods to address the community needs using evidenced-based interventions (journal citations) as a framework.
