This class is focused on emerging technologies and who is the best to identify those technologies? – you as the consumer! Chapter 2 of the text “What’s the Future and Why It’s Up to Us” discusses the emerging technologies that help enable what the author describes as the Global Brain. These include The Internet as a Platform, Collective Intelligence, and the Increasing role of Data.
Your assignment is to prepare a brief presentation on the Global Brain.
- Briefly define the Global Brain and the 3 above terms (Internet as a Platform, Collective Intelligence, Increasing Role of Data).
- Identify an emerging technology that reflects the emerging Global Brain. Explain the technology and identify key points about it.
- In your presentation, be sure to refer to your research sources (using at least 3 outside sources) by including the author of the source and date of publication (or ‘n.d.’ for ‘no date’), like this (Richards, 2018). Then put the source on your References.
