Excel Workbook Project
Description of the Study:
Mr. Johnson is a 5th grade teacher. Up until this year, he has regularly tracked information about his students using notebooks, index cards and his excellent memory. When it came time to provide reports cards, attendance records or other reports such as honor roll information or class rosters – he did these by hand. This project will create an easy to use application to electronically collect information about his students and then generate interesting and required reports.
The information below can be used as a guideline in creating and completing your project.

Utilize sorting, filters and subtotals
Create at least 2 interesting pivot tables and a related pivot chart for each pivot table
Create one summary worksheet that uses 3-D references to “collect” data from the other worksheets in the workbook (hint: if you have separate worksheets that collect data about a student’s grades, attendance, and demographic data – reference this data to create a “report card” summarizing a student’s progress)
Use named ranges in at least one of the worksheets
Create validation on selected cells to ensure the integrity of the data
Create at least one macro to automate a process within the workbook (hint: automate the print preview of a particular cell range)
Create buttons to manage the macros
As appropriate all data and charts should be formatted using formatting concepts learned in the text. Themes and styles should be taken advantage of to enhance the appearance the content.
