In “Where Do We Stand?,” the author explores the very culturally-dictated sense of personal space across different cultures. According to the text, cultural habits such as personal space are so elusive to the individual that they become evident only when encountered by someone with a different cultural norm. Are there any beliefs, habits or norms engrained in your culture that you would like to change? Write an essay to explain which belief from your home culture you would like to change or amend. Explain what benefits this change would bring and/or what damages would be avoided.
