Q1)
Research paper topics are to be selected by the student and approved by the instructor.
The Research Paper Topic Proposal should be one paragraph that clearly states the proposed topic you plan to discuss; the question, problem, or hypothesis you wish to investigate; or the issue you wish to debate. Include an explanation of why this topic is worth investigating and/or why you are particularly interested in it. (E.g., How does it relate to your professional field of study?)
Please find a list of possible research topics here: ICT 4605 Topics for class paper and presentation.doc These topics are only a few possible topics. The student is not required to pick any of these topics.
Topics will be approved on their applicability to Information Systems Security and on a first-come, first-accepted basis (i.e., no duplicate topics). Should a student select a topic that has already been approved for another student the instructor will inform the student prior to the end of class week 3. The student may then select another topic and submit the second topic prior to class week 4. No reduction in grade will be assessed in this case.
Q2) Chapter 6 of Enterprise Architecture as Strategy has two case studies that I would like you to consider in terms of that book’s theme (i.e., the relationship between a Foundation For Execution, an Operating Model, and Enterprise Architecture). Please discuss one of the case studies (or another one you may be aware of via your own experience or research, including looking at next week’s case studies). The goal here is to consider, with an example, how what the Ross book lays out (along with the concepts of the architecture frameworks we have studied thus far) has been or could actually be applied. Please limit your responses to 200 words.
Q3) Imagine there was no such thing as an architecture framework. What would be the challenges that would emanate from such an absence?
Q4) Turn this around and imagine that you are using one or more such frameworks very well in your organization. What benefits are you gaining from their use?
