The Reasons for War – Group A:
- 1)What are the five reasons for bargaining failure? Provide a summary of each and explain how bargaining relates to our course.
- 2)Explain the difference between rational and non-rational actors. List the three examples that are provided in our reading. Select one example and explain how it relates to our course.
- 3)Describe how bargaining might fail. What are possible issue/barriers/problems that could cause failure? In your opinion, how could these be corrected or avoided?
- 4)What is democratic peace? Using the readings and outside sources (please cite), do you believe it is an accurate assumption? Why or why not?
- 5)How does the arms race relate to our reading? Does ‘arming’ escalate or de-escalate conflict according to the reading? Provide examples from the readings and/or outside sources.
