The primary goal of the final project is to provide a set of step-by-step instructions (minimum 10 steps), for a specific audience, leading to a specific deliverable. A very simple example would be instructions for assembling a piece of furniture. At the end, the user should have a specific and complete product.

However, the major difference is that it should somehow be tailored to the audience throughout the set of instructions. The instructions should not be meant for anyone and everyone (like Ikea instructions). Instead, the instructions should be for a deliverable that are tailored both implicitly and explicitly to a specific intended audience. Like in the Extended Definition assignment, some creativity is required to meet these goals.

Many students pursue topics related to software such as Excel, MatLab, Sketchup and others. There are already many, many resources for all of these. To create something unique and tailored for this assignment, you must direct the instructions at a specific intended audience, with a scenario/example directly relevant to that audience.

Providing general tips and highlighting a variety of features is not the point of the assignment. Instead, you are choosing what features and tools to use so that a user can arrive at a specific, intended deliverable.
