Developing a Pamphlet or Brochure on Racism Assignment | Sociology
The pamphlet should be no more than 1-page front/back and include the following:
1. Brief description and significance of the problem addressed. Information should include research related to the prevalence/severity and/or reasons why the issue is a public health concern for a specific group. Include information related to how social, gender, economic, ethnic or cultural factors impact the health issue.
2. Description of health education intervention geared to change some aspect of the problem (access to services, knowledge, health status, behavior, etc.). Interventions may be based on principles of health promotion or communications, social learning theory, grass roots approaches or based on leadership, education or role modeling.
3. References: At least five references should be cited about the topic. A minimum of three sources coming from articles in journals or chapters in scholarly books. Pamphlet to be 3-4 panels within 1 page front/back.
Questions to consider:
a. Target Audience: Who do I want to reach with my message?
b. Message: What is the message? What do I want the viewer to understand?
c. Action Step: What is the call to action? What do I want the viewer to do? How can I help the viewer solve the problem?
d. Significance of Issue to the Public: Why is the issue important to the public?
The flyer should be no more than 1-full page and include the following: 1. Includes a brief description and significance of the problem addressed as well as health education intervention.
