Annual report project – select one of the ratios that you
Annual Report Project
READ THESE DIRECTIONS CAREFULLY
You have already received an email stating the corporation you will be using for this project and the names of your fellow group members.
Further instructions are in the attachments below.
1. Select one of the ratios that you calculated. If you use a different ratio, you will receive a zero. You cannot correctly answer this if b and c for your question are not correct. Do corrections first.
2. Submit your answer in a paragraph, 400-600 words, Times Roman, 12 font, double-spaced, and correct grammar. Submit your individual answer to thedropbox with your corporation’s name. IT MUST BE SUBMITTED IN THE DROPBOX.
3. The following points should all be in your submission.
a. Classification of the ratio as stated in the chapter 13 ppt.
b. How does the direction of the ratio affect the operations of the company? THINK!!! Just don’t tell me assets will go up and revenue will go down. That is a fluff answer that will get you a fluff 0 points. Give likely real scenerios to be used. Don’t just talk about accounts.
c. What the company needs to do to improve the ratio? Give likely real scenerios to be used. Don’t just talk about accounts.
d. Pick out a competitor and look at the same ratio for them for 2012 and 2013 (or 2013 and 2013 for some groups). Which corporation has the better ratios and why? Again talk about likely business scenerios, not just accounts.
This shows how much you can relate the concepts of business to the real world. Know what type of product or service is being sold. Who is the customer base? What has that segment of the economy been through. Look up the economic terms such as inferior goods, durable goods, luxury good, etc. To see what your corporation is selling and how it reacts within global business.
4. Please don’t tell me that any of these companies will go bankrupt. That just shows you have not done your research.
5. This part can make or break the grade on this project. This is your turn to engage as an accountant would in the business world.
When you turn in your paper in the dropbox, it will be scanned with Turnitin.com plagiarism detection. You will be able to see the percent of plagiarism. You will be able to submit your paper as many times as you like until the deadline.
