Human Microbiome Project
In December 2007, NIH (National Institutes of Health) announced the Human Microbiome Project (HMP). The goal of this project is to identify bacterial species that live on healthy human subjects and basically sequence them. Scientists are trying to understand the role of these bacterial communities in various organs of our bodies. This information can ultimately be used to maybe to help cure some human diseases caused by these bacteria.
Create a thread and in 1 or 2 sentences elaborate on this subject by adding some new information (research on web..etc).
