Scientific Literature

Identify a topic that you would be interested in researching. Use your QC Database access to search through peer-reviewed scientific literature on this topic. Identify one article which describes the methods & results of primary research (where the researchers perform all aspects of the research, from sampling, to data collection, to analysis). Answer the following questions about the article.

Research Question: What is the research question/Aim of the research?
Research Methods: What kinds of research methods were employed?
Measurement: How did researchers operationally define, and measure the concepts that are central to the research? If specific validated scales are used, which, and how do they work?
Sampling: How were participants selected to be part of the sample?
Data Collection: How would did researchers gather the data?
Analysis: What were the findings of the research?
Limitations: What are some ways in which this research could have been improved?
Be sure that the research you select presents the methods for primary research (where researchers execute the full research operation, from conceptualization to sampling, data collection, and analysis). Do not use a meta analysis, where researchers are simply summarizing multiple other studies, and not actually deploying primary research of their own.

Always include citations, with links to peer-reviewed scientific articles or other sources referenced in your data.
