Code of Ethics
Write your own code of ethics. Think of an enterprise in your life—or your life in general—and create a code of ethics that can serve you or the organization you have in mind. Then answer these questions, by letter:
A. Whether an aspirational code or a code of minimum standards is more appropriate. If you mix them, how can you make sure that one is not mistaken for the other?
B. Whether you would include an enforcement clause that details penalties for breaking minimum standards.
C. Whether, after stating the important values and stakeholders, you will try to rank them in order of importance.
D. Whether you would seek to impose this code on others.
E. What ethics code (found in the online resources for this book) makes the most sense for your situation. And don’t cut-n-paste from other codes. IN A – B – C – E format
