Researchable Problem PowerPoint

For this assignment, you first need to identify a problem – preferably one occurring in your current practice (or a former place of practice). This needs to be a current issue. In the power point, there should be no more 20 slides. I encourage you to follow the 6x6x6 rule – no more than 6 bullet points per slide, no more than 6 words per bullet point, and no more than 6 slides without graphics. Don’t use full sentences. If you need to add more – include the additional information in the speaker notes. Also, be sure to cite your references on the slides (not just in the speaker notes).

Content:

a. Title Page

b. Research problem: Identify the need for a change in the current practice. Why is this a problem that you want to address?

c. Hypothesis: What is the expectation of changes implemented?

d. Research questions: What do you want to find out?

e. Critique, synthesize, and evaluate at least two research studies related to your identified problem. The studies may be qualitative, quantitative, mixed methods, or a meta-analysis. The studies should be from the last 5 years! This is not a summary of the article but a critique. Please refer to the format you used for your critiques in weeks 2 and 3. Make sure you hit the highlights. t

f. Design a strategy for implementing change in practice based on the research.

g. Identify the barriers to implementing change.

h. Strategies to address barriers.

i. List the steps you would take to evaluate the change after it is implemented.

j. Describe communication methods for dissemination of the findings to healthcare professionals.
